You know what? You're absolutely right! I had forgotten about that "self-hosted" loophole. My apologies!

Actually, after having read the community guidelines, I think your reading of it might not be correct.

The relevant passage is this:

The Flickr service makes it possible to post content hosted on Flickr to outside web sites. However, pages on other web sites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr.

This passage is very specific about using the verb "hosted".

To my mind, this means that if you use flickr to host the image, and then display the image on another website, you must link back. If you host the image somewhere else, even if it was originally discovered on Flickr, you do not have to link back.

In this case, I've linked back to Flickr because you seem to want me to do that and I'm happy to do it. However, that's a step I have to do manually and I'd just as soon not do that going forward unless it actually violates the Flickr TOS.

If anyone knows for sure, LMK.

Me and a couple others are currently helping a programming buddy "alpha" test a VB program, and yeah, it's tough with only a few of us. But, it's a necessary evil! Problem is, since I'll be familiar with the program, I'll be on the receiving end of bug reports when he takes it to public beta!

Thanks for properly attributing the photo (but according to Flikr's TOS, the image is supposed to link back to the photo page). :-D
